The Law Library is offering summer workshops on Zotero and MS Word. These workshops are excellent in preparation for your SYS paper. Day and evening classes will be offered.

Workshops will be offered on Zotero – Zotero is a standalone (and browser app) that allows note-taking, citation, and collection/management of online sources. Additionally, Word training will also be offered on the following topics: Table of Contents, Table of Authorities, Styles, Templates, Redaction, etc.

Prof. Huffman is offering summer sessions based on interest. Please register as slots are filling up. These would be in-person.

Please note the venue for the June 13 classes has changed to CR1 (same time).

Technology Competence is now a Duty in Hawaiʻi

Hawaiʻi has now adopted the duty of technology competence (effective Jan 1, 2022). We have become the 40th state by my reckoning.

Rule 1.1

      Maintaining Competence

[6]To maintain the requisite knowledge and skill, a lawyer should engage in continuing study and education and keep abreast of changes in the law and its practice, including the benefits and risks associated with relevant technology. See comments [18] and [19] of Rule 1.6.

      (Amended August 18, 2021, effective January 1, 2022.)
