Due to a change in CDC cleaning protocols, the Law Library will extend access past 5 pm beginning Sunday, April 25^th for law students.

It is a little complicated, so please read carefully.

The Law Library will be open Sunday through Thursday.

On Sunday, access begins at 1 pm, and during weekdays, access begins at 9 am.  Each day, you will need to exit the building at 5 pm and re-enter using your Law Library Access Card.  (This will help with contact tracing in case we need to engage in that process, and it lets us know who is in the building after normal working hours.)

Students are not allowed in the Law Library between the hours of 6 am and 9 am Monday through Thursday, or between 6 am Friday through 1 pm Sunday.  Please make sure you are out of the building during these hours.  Your access cards will be deactivated during these times.  Custodial services will complete their morning cleaning between 6 am and 9 am each weekday and prefer not to work around people who are studying (it can be noisy).  We close on Friday and Saturday in order to have a “clean” environment on Sunday (since there are no custodial services on the weekend). 

Seat reservations are still required.  You must reserve a seat if you plan to study during the day before 5 pm, and another reservation if you plan to study in the Law Library after 5 pm.  If you are planning to arrive before 5 pm and stay after 5 pm, you need two seat reservations: one for the day session and one for the evening session.  Again, this is to help with contact tracing if needed.

You cannot reserve a seat more than 48 hours in advance.

Special Note for 1Ls:  You will need an access card to gain entry to the Law Library.  There are instructions at the bottom of the guidelines on how to go about securing one.
